Rugtastic!

Marvellous monochrome, gorgeous geometrics and super stars and stripes - these rugs rock!

Rugs are fab! We're obsessed with them as they transform a room in an instant. They can add luxurious, textural, toe snuggling cosiness, soften and define a hardwood floor, jazz up a jaded looking room with colour and pattern and even be hung on a wall!

Buy the best rug you can for your room. Natural fibres, like our 100% wool rugs look and feel gorgeous and will stand the test of time. They wear well, can be cleaned and will add much needed padding under the little knees and toes of children playing on the floor. They create a cool room vibe and are a fab addition to a family space or playroom.

Does size matter?

Bigger isn’t always better but equally going too small can be a mistake. Measure the area you plan to place your rug and orient it to best suit the room’s proportions. If the space allows, I like to anchor the feet of furniture to sit on the rug. This links the room nicely and is warm underfoot when your little one steps out of bed or hops off the sofa.

In a small room with lots of furniture and limited floor space, choose a rug design that will harmonise and co-ordinate with the existing floor colour (a highly decorative design will emphasise the limited floor space).

Just as using mirrors to reflect light in a small room, a larger rug can make a room feel bigger and it’s a design trick we interior designers often use to play with scale.

Create a new look

Rugs can easily change the mood of a room or give a fresh seasonal lift. A lack lustre room will be transformed with a gorgeous geometric design. Monochrome geometrics are right on trend so have a look at ours to help you bring your room bang up to date.

And popping a tweed or heathery toned rug on the floor and adding a few co-ordinating cushions to the bed will inject a cosy Autumnal air to a room.

Rugs don’t have to cost the earth so you can play around with themes and colours and have a bit of fun.

Keep them clean

To keep them a fresh as they day they were bought, keep your rug vacuumed regularly and if you can take them outside easily enough, give them a good shake every now and then. Tackle any stains straight away and deep-clean your rug at least once a year. A clean, fresh smelling rug will look its best, last longer and work it’s magic by enhancing your room.

There’s a children’s rug to suit every room and we’ve got your floors covered. Hope you feel rugs rock as much as we do!
