"THE OBJECT
Feinedinge light
These enchanting porcelain Moonstruck and Bubble lights, part of the Feinedinge collection, are the work of the artist and ceramicist Sandra Haischberger. In a tiny studio in her native Vienna, Haischberger meticulously hand-drills each original piece with scores of tiny holes, creating magical patterns through which pinpoints of light shine. Available in freestanding and wall-mounted versions, the Feinedinge (which translates as “fine thing”) costs from £118 at Eco Age (020-8995 7611; www.eco-age.com).

THE BARGAIN
HomeSense
Just as TK Maxx sells designer fashion brands at knock-down prices, so its sister company HomeSense does the same for interiors. Remaindered, end-of-range and returned products from top labels – Ralph Lauren, Le Creuset, Monsoon – are up for grabs, with prices slashed by up to 60 per cent. You never know what you might chance upon: these pompom cushions cost £24.99 (www.homesense.com).

OUTSIDE EDGE
Pipe Dreams watering can, £44, Jerszy Seymour at Panik Design (www.panik-design.com).

TRADE SECRET
Funky Little Darlings
(01993 898834; www.funkylittledarlings.co.uk)
From painstakingly hand-painted murals in 2006, Mandy Colliss and David Quinton now provide their fabulously creative designs for children’s rooms on made-to-measure wallpaper or canvas panels. Each mural is tailored to fit, can be applied around doors and windows and even across glass, wood and metal surfaces. For toddlers right up to teens, the murals are not only hip, they’re wipe-clean, too, and guaranteed to last for eight years.

What’s hot? Bespoke commissions such as Skater Boy are in demand, from £1,600, or choose from the new repeat roll wallpaper collection, £60 per roll."
